Wag n’ Wheels is an on-demand mobile application offering professional pet grooming and cleaning services at a preferred location, seven days a week. Once booked, portable grooming stations are dispatched to the clients home/work, providing specific services chosen by the client in advance.
Dog owners are regularly faced with the tedious task of finding and scheduling grooming services. This process often involves numerous and unnecessary steps that are frustrating and time-consuming.
To address this, we began designing an on-demand mobile dog grooming app. Wag n’ Wheels app connects certified pet grooming specialists with pet owners and allows users to select a groomer, schedule appointments and quickly pay and review their groomer.
This project focused on an iOS mobile app experience.

The first stage of our process was to gain an empathic understanding of the problem we are trying to solve. We started our initial research trying to learn as much as we can about users and their pet grooming experiences. To better understand specific pain points and insights of the users, we created a survey in which we received 31 responses. We discovered several critical issues from both regarding.
For this project, we created the Andrew proto persona to identify with our users’ goals and frustrations. We continuously referred back to this persona throughout the design process to ensure that our users’ needs were at the core of the product.
Relate to our persona’s journey and touch points allowed me to understand what the user is thinking through each phase of the customer journey. This gave us further insight into where our product could alleviate pain points and solve problems.
Having a clear description of the app users and needs, we began telling the story of the user’s possible step-by-step experience. I sketched out a storyboard to really get into the shoes of the user.
Following Storyboard and User Flow completion, we began sketching potential solutions.
Using paper prototype testing, we took our concept, through user-testing to be able to iterate changes before taking it into full digital wire-frames quickly.
During usability testing, our goal was to identify any significant flow and concept changes that should be made to fit the user’s’ needs better.
We discovered several things:
Taking into consideration our findings from the two rounds of testing with five users, we were able to produce final wire-frames.
